Who we are
We are group of young people who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for him.
The Namuhindura Foundation is a charitable organization devoted to improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable children
We assistance, humanitarian aid, and carries out acts of solidarity and charity for orphans, vulnerable children and families affected by political, ethnic, economic, or social oppression, war, disaster, ecological threat, or any other emergency in order to meet their vital needs.
Education
After witnessing the devastating effects of numerous wars in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a significant number of children found themselves orphaned and hopeless, left to roam the streets. In response to this dire situation, the Namuhindura Foundation was established with the noble mission of providing these children with free education. With the establishment of two schools in Kasenga and Kanvinvira, we have successfully graduated over 500 children so far.
We are in dire need of rehabilitating our schools, as they have been severely impacted by heavy rains, resulting in significant damage to almost all the classrooms. We are also currently in the midst of construction and aim to add more classrooms to accommodate a larger number of students.
Healthcare
Healthcare has always been a priority for us, and we have been providing assistance to orphans by covering their medical treatment expenses in hospitals. However, we are now taking our commitment a step further by planning to construct a clinic specifically designed to cater to the needs of these vulnerable children. This clinic will serve as a beacon of hope, providing comprehensive healthcare services and support to the orphans in our care.
Nutrition
Nutrition is a critical aspect of a child’s development, and we recognize that hunger can hinder their ability to focus on their studies. To address this issue, we are dedicated to providing ample food resources to combat hunger and support their overall well-being. We are committed to doing our utmost to ensure that no child goes hungry, enabling them to thrive academically and reach their full potential.
We are in need of establishing a school canteen in areas like Kasenga and Kavinvira where we will be feeding the children everyday.
Shelter
We have been doing our utmost to accommodate few orphans in our individual homes. However, we now recognize the need to construct an orphanage that can accommodate a larger number of orphans. We firmly believe that this will enable them to concentrate more on their studies, as they will have a stable environment.
Namuhindura & Tumaini School
Namuhindura Institute and E.P Tumaini are two of our schools that accommodate orphans in the Kasenga area. These schools have been severely impacted by heavy rain, resulting in significant damage to almost all of the classrooms. The children are now struggling to find a place to sit and study. We are in dire need of rehabilitating these schools.
Area of Intervention
We operate in the eastern part of DRC and some areas in Burundi to help orphans, abandoned and vulnerable children.
